It's hard to believe that we are already planning for next school year! On February 8th, our 8th through 11th grade students participated in our annual electives fair that is put on and manned by our upperclassmen. Scheduling will begin soon and our elective fair allows students to get an idea of which pathways they might be interested in pursuing. Pathways include Health Science, Digital Media, and Manufacturing and Logistics. Please speak with your students regarding the pathways they might be interested in and make sure to look out for the scheduling forms that will be coming home in the upcoming weeks.

Members of the SPHS National Honors Society were invited to attend the LEAD Conference in Washington, D.C. this weekend. They had the opportunity to tour our Nation's Capital prior to the conference where they participated in leadership workshops to enhance their leadership skills to bring back to campus.

SPHS placed 1st for most creative display at the Orange Fest.

On February 3rd before the boy's basketball game we will have an alumni game starting at 4pm.

SPHS shines at the All Star banquet. The following players were chosen to be on the team and represent Plaquemines Parish in the All Star Game on the Jefferson Parish team: Corey Rojas, Drew Sanger, Kendrick Smith, Malik Smith, and Trey Ockman. Our own assistant coach Lyle Fitte was also chosen as an assistant coach for the team. The boys were treated to a motivational speech by New Orleans Saints player Roman Harper. The game was played on December 17, 2016.

SPHS students placed in multiple categories both on the school and district level.

SPHS is proud to announced that we were awarded an A letter grade from the Louisiana Department of Education and named a Top Gains school for increasing our School Performance Score.

SPHS celebrated their A from the Louisiana Department of Education by having Hurricane Day. Click here for more pictures from the day!
