Dancing Blue Diamonds National Dance Team Championship Experience

Making history, the SPHS Dancing Blue Diamonds Dance Team participated in the 2017 UDA National Dance Team Championships that took place at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL on February 3rd and 4th. These young ladies performed in Varsity High Kick Division, ranking 16th out of 32 teams, at one of the biggest competitive dance experiences in the country. This opportunity to showcase and amaze audiences was that of sheer joy and a proud moment for our community and school. The competing team members of the Dancing Blue Diamonds were: Aaliyah Hinton, Akhia Cross, Asanta Mackey, Mikia Riley, Shyonna Turner, Monee Smith, and Brooke Ingraham, under the coaching instruction of Ms. Chancell Hymes, Head Coach and Ms. Lynn Ingraham, Asst. Coach. These young ladies poured their heart and soul into their performance and left it all on the dance floor. Great job Diamonds!

The Blue Diamonds give a special thank you to, Mr. Barthelemy and Mrs. L. Martin for their support and confidence in our dance program.
