SPHS's Dance Team and Majorette teams are on point!

 Congratulations to the 2015-2016 South Plaquemines High School Dance Team
 
The 2015-2016 South Plaquemines High School Dance Team won a number of awards at the Universal Dance Association (UDA) technique camp at Southeastern Louisiana University that took place in Hammond from June 23 to June 26. The team received the Superior Trophy for receiving the highest rating during individual evaluations,  qualifying them to compete at the National Dance Team Competition in Orlando, Florida in early February 2016.
 

Congratulations to the 2015-2016 South Plaquemines High School Majorette Team

South Plaquemines High School newly assembled majorette team led by Mrs. Brandy Johnson did an outstanding job during their first ever summer camp and competition.  The team earned 1stplace in the “Home Routine Division”, 2nd place in the “Grand Championship Beginner Division” and all 6 team members won “All-star Ribbions”.  In addition to the earning all-star ribbons, LaShon Scott, Yondra Smith, and Angel Savioe won “Honor Roll” medals.   As a result of their accomplishments during camp and competition, the South Plaquemines High School Majorette Team is invited to perform in Orlando, Florida on January 1, 2016 at the 70th annual 2016 Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.

Mr. Barthelemy said “As we continue to grow our brand, while embarking on a new day in education, the students of South Plaquemines High School will experience positive curricular and co-curricular activities, which are the hallmarks of an educationally rich school program”.  Mr. Barthelemy said “I salute the South Plaquemines High School Majorette Team for representing themselves, their community, and their school in a positive manner, I’m very proud of them."
