Students from Belle Chasse, Phoenix and South Plaquemines High Schools attended a six-hour Youth Leadership Institute on September 18. Students spent the evening discussing goal setting, reaching their optimal potential, relationships and conflict resolution skills, and developing positive leadership skills.
Ron Anderson, Executive Director of Project Reclaim, was the presenter. Mr. Anderson is well-known for his dynamic motivational speeches and youth presentations.
The Institute, which was held at Bayou Barriere Golf Club, was sponsored by the Louisiana Safe and Supportive Schools Initiative. The goal of this initiative is to promote a safe and supportive school environment where all students have the opportunity to experience academic success. The grant provides funds for invention programs and activities to enhance school atmosphere at the three high schools in Plaquemines Parish.
