Aside from practice all summer, SPHS Varsity Cheerleaders attended both UCA and NCA cheer camps. UCA camp helped us get game day ready, whereas NCA camp focused more on the performance side of cheerleading. The team worked hard and showed success at both camps. At UCA camp the team received blue superior ribbons all week for all of their performances and took home second place for their Xtreme Routine on the last day and got to take home the spirit banana. Also, seniors Shelby Baham and Kimberly Bonvillian, and sophomore Chloe Brown were named All American cheerleaders. At NCA camp we had a clean sweep taking home first place in both the performance competition and champion chant. The team took home the NCA Spirit Award which was voted on by all the other teams there for showing great sportsmanship, leadership, and spirt. The team was also recognized for their sharp motions in their routines and were granted a bid to compete at NCA Nationals in Dallas, Texas in January 2016. Also, Kimberly Bonvillian and Chloe Brown were named to the NCA All American team.
