SPHS will host a Scholastic Book Fair 10/5/16 through 10/17/16.

To shop online go to click this article. The fair will also be open the following times:
- Open at school for breakfast and both lunches on October 10th to October 14th.
- Open for READ NIGHT: 4:30 – 7:30
- Open after school on Monday (10/10) & Tuesday (10/11) from 2:45 – 3:45.

There will also be a raffle. Tickets will be given for each $10 spent at the fair.
Grand Prize: $30 in Scholastic Books
2nd prize $20 in Scholastic Books
Consolation Prizes based on the total number of entries.

Louisiana Caring Communities Youth Survey

SPHS students will participate in the Louisiana Caring Communities Youth Survey. The purpose of the survey is to gather information needed to plan prevention and intervention programs in our community and schools. If you would not like your child to participate, please download the attached letter and return it to the school.

Schedule Pick-Up

Seniors and Juniors may come pick up their 2016-2017 schedule on Aug. 4th from 12:00pm until 2:00pm.

Sophomores, Freshman, and 8th Graders may come pick up their 2016-2017 schedule on Aug. 5th from 12:00pm until 2:00pm.

ONLY Seniors can submit a schedule change request form on Aug. 8th from 1:00pm until 3:00pm.

7th Graders and their parents are invited to a Meet & Greet/Schedule Pick-Up on Aug. 8th from 1:30pm to 3pm. There will be a meeting with administration from 1:30 to 1:40.

BELLE CHASSE, LA – TEEN CERT gives your child the opportunity to gain lifelong skills to protect family, friends and themselves. This event is free and open to residents from Plaquemines, Jefferson, Orleans and St. Bernard Parishes.

Plaquemines Parish teenagers will have an amazing opportunity available to learn at separate events about basic disaster preparedness response skills which include:
first aid
fire safety
search and rescue
team building skills
disaster medical operations

Instruction will also include: the dangers of drinking and driving, texting and driving, terrorism awareness, and bullying. Hands on training will also be given in CPR and the proper use of a fire extinguisher. In an effort to put the lessons into practical use, camp attendees will participate in field exercises with simulated scenarios.

Tulane University will host the 2016 Teen CERT Camp, July 11th thru 15th.For more information please contact 504-913-1442. The registration deadline is July 1, 2016.
